Show Us Your...Master Bedroom

This week is a little peak at our master bedroom.  It is actually a pretty good sized room if we hadn't tried to fit so much into it.

We currently have a queen sized bed, 2 dressers, a book shelf, a filing cabinet and desk sharing the space.

Forgive the lack of comforter on the bed.  They day I took this picture I was sending a picture of my new bamboo sheets to a friend hence the no comforter.

My dresser almost never has all of the drawers shut since I have just a few too many thing shoved into it but I try to keep the top organized and neat.  I have a plastic drawer set for a jewel box and a little mirror in addition to whatever seasonal decorations I have up at the moment.

We have a nice view of other people's roofs. #condoliving

One whole wall is made up of a closet and we have a small linen closet on another wall but somehow we still end up with not enough storage space. I don't know how! Could be that I have no shortage of clothes but that is another story. Lack of storage leads to a few boxes living agains the wall instead of in some closet.

See I told you my drawers are never shut all the way. In all reality our desk is used more for piling stuff on than actually used as a desk so that is something that is likely not moving with us unless we end up somewhere with a lot of space. Doesn't seem likely in this area but a girl can dream.

Someday over the rainbow we will be living someplace with room for a king sized bed but for now our room is nice and cozy alas a little crowded.  As much as I complain about our condo being small it will always hold a special place in my heart as the first place my husband and I lived together.

Wedding Wednesday-Just a Teaser

At the beach, in Hawaii, we got married (again) last weekend in the wedding I had dreamed of for years. So many more pictures and a full recap of all the events to come as I get pictures from more people and the professional ones become available. So many of our loved ones came to Hawaii to celebrate with us and I couldn't be happier about how the whole thing turned out.

Show Us Your...Dining Room

Our little condo doesn't so much as have a dining room but a dining area.

Our dining area is technically the same room as our living room though it has been spared most of the wedding mess that is currently taking over our living room. Our dining table is always decorated for whatever holiday season it is and often times the wall between our kitchen and dining room is also decorated too.

Our glass top dining table opens up to double the size it is in the picture if we need more seating. It can technically seat 6 or 8 people but that would require more than the 4 chairs that we have.  I guess we could use our desk chair and the other chair we have if we ever were serving dinner to more than 4 people.

One side of our dining room wall opens into the kitchen and the other one leads to the laundry closet and bath room.

While I decorate the wall between the kitchen and laundry closet on a regular basis the other two walls of our dining room don't get the same love. The far corner is actually usually used for storage of our ladder and the vacuum cleaner. Oh the tales of living in a small condo.

As you can see our dining room isn't the prettiest room but it serves it's purpose. We like our table and chairs so they will probably come with us to our next (larger) place.

Patriotic Decorations

Summer is not my favorite time of year to decorate since there is really only one holiday. The 4th of July is really the only holiday that can be decorated for so I decided to take full advantage of the opportunity before figuring out what to put up for the rest of the summer.

Our condo is quite the mess with all the wedding prep going on around here hence the abundance of zoomed in pictures.

By the time we get back from our wedding it will be less than a week until the 4th of July so I put up everything last weekend so I would have plenty of time to enjoy the decorations.

Happy 4th of July!

Show Us Your...Living Room

So I was going to Link Up with Kelly's Korner today for the first one of a series of posts that show off the various rooms in your house.  Well....the the first room is the living room and our living room currently looks like this

Wedding gifts and wedding preparation have pretty much taken over my living room at the moment. We live in a small condo (at the moment) so it doesn't take much to overwhelm our space and I would say it is pretty overwhelmed at the moment.

I went through my phone to see if I had any pictures of it's regular status but while I have a few pictures of holiday decorations I apparently don't take pictures of my living room much.

In addition to our little TV area with the two love seats and the TV we have an area outside the kitchen between our living area and dining area that has a great wooden bar cabinet. Someday when we move somewhere bigger much of our living room furniture will be replaced but the bar will be coming with us.

As you can see there is no shortage of wine being stored in our bar and you can't see it in this picture but there is actually some stored next to the bar since it is already full. I guess I need to drink more wine.

Hopefully by this time next year I will have a little bit of a more presentable living room but for now we are making due with what we have.

What's In My Bag-Show and Tell Tuesday

It is always fun to see what other women carry around in their purses so today I am showing you what is in mine as part of Show and Tell Tuesday.

I have never been one to carry a small purse and my current one is no exception.  I got this purse a few months ago and am happy with it so far. I don't change purses on a regular basis so generally my purses wear out before I move on to the next one. I admire people who change their purses out to match their outfits or the season but I just can't be one of them.

One of the big advantages and disadvantages of having a big purse it that you can fit a lot of stuff in it. My purse is never light and I am sure after I have kids it will be even heavier.  My poor shoulders.

The two big reasons my purse is generally heavy is that I have been known to carry around my bottle of water and a book.  I generally don't leave the house without both of these but you will be happy to know if I don't need them I am not opposed to leaving them in the car when I get somewhere. I love my metal water bottle and it is pretty hard to loose because my name is right there on it.

For years I didn't wear sunglasses (I know bad for my eyes) but I was super opposed to wearing those clip on sunglasses and I don't go too long without my glasses.  For years my glasses prescription changed every year so I always had to get new glasses instead of being able to use my insurance to get sunglasses. Finally a few years ago I had a year with no change so fancy prescription sunglasses made their way into my life. I used to have a fancy wallet but when I died I ran to Target to get something to hold me over until I found a new wallet and then I got lazy and never got a new fancy wallet.

I am addicted to Chapstick so I always have at least one in my bag (and one on my dresser, one on my desk, one in the living room etc) and depending on the day I have anywhere from one to ohhh ten different lipsticks in my bag.  I also have a little compact if I need to touch up my face during the day.

In the spirit of honesty in addition to all the regular purse things that live in my purse you can usually also find about a million receipts, grocery lists, to do lists and other random papers filling up my purse. I am definitely not good at throwing papers out when it is so easy to just shove them back in my purse.

Can't wait to see what other people carry around.
