A Day in the Life

A day in the life of me in pictures.  Not the most exciting day and nothing out of the ordinary happened today but a look at a pretty typical Monday for me.

It all started Sunday night when I set my alarm for super crazy early hour of 5:15 AM so I could get up to to to the gym.

Out the door by 5:50 AM to make it to my 6:15 AM Orangetheory class.

I survived class as evident from my super gross and sweaty clothes.  One thing I love about Orangetheory is that I always finish class knowing that I got a good workout in.

The gym is about 10 minutes from my office so on the mornings I go to the gym I bring along my big purple gym bag along with what feels like my entire bathroom and shower at the gym before going to work.  I actually shower at the gym so often that I have a separate set of make up and toiletries that live in my gym bag so I don't have to worry about forgetting them.

All dressed and ready to tackle the day.  I was excited to be wearing my new ruffle sleeve blouse that I had bought over the weekend while out shopping with a friend.

I got to work and after a morning meeting I got to work on a project I am trying to finish up.  I think I should be able to finish it up tomorrow if I don't get called into too many meetings.

I am in a new cubical (new position, new cubical) so I haven't really had a chance to decorate (or get organized) but I do have my vicious guard dragon to greet anyone who comes by.

One day I was venting my frustration to a coworker and he thought I was making funny faces (ok I probably was) so he asked to take a picture of me.  I am now an office meme with my not amused face.

One more look at my not so organized or decorated cute as I got ready to leave for the day.

I work on the 10th floor of an 11 floor building so I get to enjoy some nice views as I ride up and down the elevator to my office.

After work I ran a few errands before heading home.

At home I had some leftovers for dinner and called it an early night.  That is what happens when you get up at 5:15 in the morning!

Week (end) Wrap Up

I had a pretty quiet week after coming back from my New York City trip (recaps coming soon) but last week/this past weekend my social schedule picked up a bit again.

Last Wednesday was my husband and my three year anniversary of our first date.  Our first date was actually to a burrito place but this year we took our celebration high class and went to La Fondue. Ummm cheese please! We had the mushroom cheese which I had never had before. It was good but I think I will try a different one the next time I go.

After the cheese we grilled up some meats and dipped them in some delicious sauces but the real fun part came next. Chocolate!  We had a dark chocolate with hazelnut and marscapone it and it was fantastic! There were so many good things to dip in the chocolate that it was hard to decide what to dip next.

Monday through Wednesday there is no corkage fee so we brought along a bottle of wine I picked up wine tasting at my bachelorette party. Yumm wine! We don't normally do anything fancy on weeknights but it was fun to get out and celebrate our anniversary.  I can't wait to celebrate many more anniversaries with my husband!

Sometime before Christmas a Bass Pro Shop opened in our area but we have been busy so we hadn't been to check it out yet.  Friday night we finally went to check it out.

Not sure it the world really needs bacon ketchup but if it does I now know where to find it.

After wondering around Bass Pro for a while we decided to have dinner in the restaurant that is in the bowling ally. There was a bit of a wait (who knew) but I took pictures of all the fish on the ceiling and then we wandered around some more while waiting for our table to be ready.

This drink I got was massive and if it had been a proper drink I would have been very tipsy but this drink was mostly sugar and very little alcohol so no tipsy time for me.  All in all a fun evening hanging out with my husband.

Saturday I went to the gym and then had lunch with a friend and the we hit the mall.  We spent most of the afternoon browsing and trying on things.  I do admit a few thing made their way home with us but more on that another day.

Sunday was spent running errands, doing laundry, relaxing at home and trying to finish up all my thank you notes from my bridal shower.  Last weekend I got distracted from this project by my wedding invitations but after this weekend I am almost done with those thank you notes.

Favorite Online Boutiques

I love shopping for me or for other people so it makes sense that my love of shopping extends to online shopping.  I do quite a bit of shopping online at Nordstrom and The Loft but when I need something a little more unique Etsy is always my first stop.

I really like wearing bows in my hair to keep my bangs out of my fact on days when I just can deal with them but don't want to wear my hair in a ponytail.  My favorite everyday bows come from Ruby Blue. Most of my bows are the lace ones though they have some other great options too and the cutest thing for little babies.  I can't wait until I have excuse to buy other things from them!

I love Disneyland so I have a whole collection of hair ware to wear during my trips. I can't find the shop that this one came from but it is so fun and sparkly.

I got this fun Minnie Mouse headband from Shimmer Shine Boutique.

These last two headpieces are from Jameson Monroe. This shop has many other fun Disney inspired bows if Minnie Mouse and Belle are not your favorites.

I think I need to plan another trip to Disneyland so I have an excuse to wear all my fun bows!

Hawaii Wedding Update

Since today is my husband and my dating anniversary today seemed like an excellent day to do a wedding update.

We are less than 3 months away from the big day so I feel like there is still so much to do but I have to do but one way or another it will have to get done.

One of the things that has successfully completed is sending the official invitations.  They arrived last week and I spent most evenings last week with my purple pen in hand addressing them and then with the help of my husband stuffed all the envelopes with all the accessories that go into a wedding invitation.  Can't wait for people to start RSVPing to our wedding!

A few weeks ago my mom came up and we went shopping to find her a dress to wear to the wedding.  Shopping isn't her favorite thing to do so we were both happy that we were quickly able to find her a gorgeous dress to wear.

After we found my mom a dress we went to look for shoes for me to wear with my wedding dress.  I knew I wanted to get a pair of heels for the ceremony and a pair of sandals for the reception.

I ended up finding a pair of shoes that I thought would work for the ceremony though I have to wear them around for a few hours to make sure they are comfortable before I make the final decision about keeping them. Sorry I  can't post pictures because my husband doesn't want to see them before the wedding but unless you are my husband click on the link to see them!

I have not bought sandals yet but I have my eye on these and these so any opinions or additional suggestions would be appreciated.

I still have a fabulous bridal shower to talk about so come back next week for more on that!

If I was stranded on a desert island...

I decided to try out a new link up today about being stranded on a desert island and what three things I would take.  Instead of just selecting three useful things each month there is a category for your three things.  This month it is what three things would you take from the medicine cabinet if you were stranded on a desert island.

Being that I am glowing white (practically transparent) the first thing that comes to mind is that I sunburn so I would defiantly need to bring sunscreen! My favorite sunscreen is Neutrogena.  They have great spray on version and I love their face sunscreen because it doesn't leave my face all greasy. If I really was on a desert island I would probably get sunburned eventually but at least I could prevent it for a while.

The next thing from my medicine cabinet I would bring would be my favorite face wash from Boscia.  It keeps my face clean without drying my skin out and it seems to help my face break out less. I can always use this to wash my body too if necessary so it could be doubly useful.

I think the last thing I would bring would have to be a toothbrush! Not the most exciting choice but if i happened to be stranded on this island with anyone else they would be happy I had my toothbrush.

Come back next month to see what three books I would take if I were stranded on an island.

Stitch Fix #11

I was really happy with my Stitch Fix box this month.  There was only one piece that did not at least have potential.

The one piece that I was doubtful about right out of the box was this off white long sleeved shirt. My doubt was proven justifiable when I put the shirt on.  It was a two layer white shirt with the outer layer being sheer stripes and it was just plain ugly frumpy.  Easy decision to send this one back.

The rest of the pieces in the box I had much higher hopes for.  This lightweight camisole is not a color that I normally wear but the pattern and shape were cute so I tried it on with a few of my pencil skirts to see how I like it.  I was still unsure of the color/pattern on me but by the time my trying on session was over the shirt had wrinkles so much that I decided that was a sign it should go back. I like to look presentable at work and wrinkled shirt does not project that.

This next dress was very cute and I loved the kind of paisley pattern on it but I was just too short waisted for this dress.  If I pulled the waist up to my actual waist the lower part of the dress fit perfectly but the torso of the dress was just too long for me so back it went.

This dress caught my eye right out of the box because it looked so comfy.  The shape and pattern were good and when I tried it on it was in deed very comfy.  I can see myself wearing this during the summer (or in California reality spring or fall too) on weekends running errands and I can probably also wear ti to the office with a cardigan on more casual days.

I am always a fan of stripes and already have multiple blue and white striped dresses in my closet so while I really liked this dress I thought about sending it back.  My husband was in the room while I was trying of some the pieces from this box and he loved the dress so it stayed.  I guess a girl can never have too many striped dresses!

This is one of the my favorite boxes so far and if you would like one of your own head on over to Stitch Fix to get one.

I am still here!

I know I have been fairly quiet this week but I am still here! I had a busy short work week last week and then a fabulous girls weekend in NYC with one of my sisters.  I am trying to get in the swing of things in my new position at work and have been coming home exhausted but I will be back next week with a full recap of all the fun that was had in New York. Our theme was cupcakes and cocktails and it lived up to the theme!
