Stitch Fix #36

I requested this month's Stitch Fix right before I started my first round of IVF.  I knew that all the shots would make my abdomen sore and puffy so I asked for comfy clothing to wear. What I didn't know was that I wouldn't want pants of any sort so dresses would be the only thing that would fit.

The first thing I got in my box was this very cute burgundy striped dress.  It is hard to tell from this picture the but dress is slightly fuzzy and super comfy. It fit well and looked cute even when my stomach was all puffy so I kept this dress and put it in my rotation of dresses to wear during IVF.

Now after the high note of the burgundy dress there were these burgundy leggings that were the low note of the box.  They were a thick polyester type fabric with a black and white stripe down the side and they were just about the ugliest thing ever.  It was a very easy decision to send back these leggings.

This dress fit fine and was kind of cute but I don't really like the cross across the neckline and I felt like it veered a little bit too cowgirl for me. It would have been cute with a pair of cowboy boots but that is just not really my style.

This shirt was super super soft and cozy but by the time the box arrived I had figured out that IVF and pants don't really go together so I didn't need a shirt because I couldn't wear pants at that point.

This could have been cute if it had been a dress but it was a tunic so it was not very useful for IVF so I sent it back.

I only kept one thing this month but part of that was due to the fact that I didn't know to only request dresses or accessories because shirts are useless when you can't wear pants. This month I gave a much better description of what I can wear and can't wear so I am looking forward to seeing what comes in my box this month.

Stitch Fix #35

This month's Stitch Fix box had some very fun things in it and I was hopeful that something would work out but nothing was quite right.  I am trying to only buy things that I really love so I am being extra picky.

The first thing in my box was these super cute Kate Spade multi color stud earrings.  They were so cute that I already own these earrings in multiple colors.  Every year they go on sale during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale so a couple of years I picked up a couple of pairs. I even grabbed a few extra pairs to give as gifts.
This skirt was cute and made my butt look good but because it didn't have a zipper it was hard to put on.  I was afraid that I would tear the seams out shimmying into it every time I wore it so I sent it back.

This dress was super cute and fit really well.  I liked the pink color and the fun flower pattern but I just hated the criss cross X on the neckline of the dress.  If it was just a regular v-neck without the cross I would have definitely kept it.

I really liked this shirt but like many button up shirts it didn't quite fit correctly in the chest.  I could have pinned it so it wouldn't pull or come un-buttoned but I decided it wasn't quite cute enough to warrant all that effort.

The final piece I received was a think t-shirt material cardigan. I wasn't crazy about the color of the elbow patches compared to the rest of the cardigan so I sent it back.  It was comfy but didn't quite hit in the right spot on me.

My next box is scheduled to arrive this week so I am hoping to find something fabulous in it.

Stitch Fix #34

There were a couple of really cute things in my box this month but for various reasons again I didn't end up keeping anything.  I am only trying to buy things I love or need to add/replace in my closet so that ended up being the reason much of this box went back.

These shorts were cute and fit well once I got them on but because they didn't have a zipper they took quite the effort to get them on and off.  This was the main reason I ended up sending them back but the color also wasn't a color I wear much.

I loved the fit and cut of this shirt but since it was white it was a bit see though and I can't have that. I wish it had been a different color because I really liked it.

This dress was also pretty cute but for some reason I just wasn't in love with it.  I think it was that the fabric was a little too artificial for my taste especially the slip underneath.

This was the one thing that I knew from the second I pulled it out of the box that it was going back.  I didn't like the color and I just don't like criss cross strap things across the neckline of shirts.

This grey and while striped shirt was cute and the material was soft but I just didn't feel like it was anything special so I sent it back too.

I am excited to get my next box because while I didn't end up keeping anything this time most of it fit and was my style.

Stitch Fix #33

Another month another Stitch Fix box came in the mail. I am not sure if I am just getting pickier about the clothes I like or if I am just not having good luck with the things that are coming in my box.

This first shirt was actually navy blue though it looks black in this picture. The shirt was very cute but the top was a sheer fabric and you could see my bra though it.  It would have been fine with a sweater but all the cute details would have hidden so I decided to send it back.

This next shirt also had a bra showing problem due to the neckline.  The pattern was also not my style so I knew pretty quickly that this one had to go back too.

I would love a pair of white shorts so I was excited to see these in my box. The long pockets on the side of these short were their downfall.  I am not lacking in hips so the pockets bulged even though the waist was the correct size.  Obviously these too had to go back. While I still don't have a pair of white shorts I did pick up a fabulous pair of white jeans last week.

I have been really into midi skirts recently but this midi dress was just kind of boring. It was also too big in my upper body.

There was nothing per say wrong with this one but there was also nothing particularly special about it either so I decided to send it back.  I am generally not a big fan of light denim on me so maybe why this one didn't work for me.

My next box is supposed to arrive this week so hopefully it contains something fabulous that I just can't live without!

Stitch Fix #32

After finding a cute little romper in my Stitch Fix last month this month was kind of a fail and now that I look at it almost everything was grey or black.

The first shirt was a soft material but I just can't get on board with this big X on the neckline trend.  I feel like it just looks tacky and especially bad on me.

There was nothing wrong with the shirt except the fact that I have a couple of pretty similar ones already.  One of them even is even from a previous Stitch Fix box.

This dress was just nothing special and kind of frumpy.  It was comfortable and felt like a pajama but that was the problem.  It kind of makes me look like I am wearing a nightgown and that really isn't the look I was going for.

This sweater had multiple problems with it.  I don't mind a cowl neck on other people but I have never been a fan of it on myself.  The bigger problem with it was the slanted sort of wrap style bottom.  It did lay right and looked like I had just ripped my sweater instead of it being there purposely.

This skirt was probably what I had the most hope for when I first opened the box but it too didn't work out.  The waistband folded over and managed to hit at the largest part of my waist so it made me look pudgy. Not the look I am going for.

Not the most successful box this month but my next box arrives tomorrow so I have high hopes for it.

Stitch Fix #31

For this month's Stitch Fix box I asked for some comfy lounge clothing so that is mostly what I got.

This grey hoodie was very cute and fit really well but I didn't end up keeping it because it had a really strange chemical smell to it.  It may have washed out but I have had other clothes with this chemical smell that the smell never went away so I decided to err on the side of caution and send it back.

I was unsure about this shorts romper when I first pulled it out of the box but once I put it on I was sold. It is not a color I have a ton of in my closet but the color looked good on me. The fit is great and this will be comfy weekend wear this summer.

This 3/4 sleeved shirt was just kind of blah so I sent it back.

I always like a good cardigan but this one just didn't fit well. It hit at a weird place on my hips and was just not flattering on me so it had to go back.

I was looking for comfy loungewear so this could have great for that but it wasn't. They technically fit but they were about an inch too short to be full length pants and a couple of inches too shot to be capri length.

Stitch Fix #30

My January Stitch Fix box came while my husband was sick so it took me a while to try everything on.

The first thing I tried was this faux wrap dress. In theory wrap dresses should look good on me but they just never do. I like the colors of this one but as usual the chest part just looked awkward on me.

I had asked for some loungewear in this fix so they sent me these black joggers.  While they were probably technically the right size when I wear loungewear I want it to be loose and comfy so I sent these pants back.

This shirt was also sent to me as an option for loungewear. The trouble with oh so many white shirts is that there is a fine line between too see through and too thick. This one ended up on the too think side and even with a nude bra I could see my bra so it went back.

I also asked for some sparkly flats since I pretty much live in flats at work (ok and at home too) and always love sparkly things.  These shoes weren't quite what I was looking for since they were kind of a snake skin pattern. They kind of reminded me of Tieks but less well made.

The fifth item in my box was my favorite and obviously the one I kept. This green jacket is almost identical to a pink jacket I got last year. I wear the pink one so much I decided I could justify getting this one since it was a different color!

Stitch Fix #29

Only one month behind in my Stitch Fix box reviews!

This blue shirt was a great color but the top was lace so you could see my bra straps. I didn't feel like always having to wear a sweater with it so this one got sent back.

I was really excited about this long grey cardigan when I saw it. The color was great but the weight of it was a little bit heavier than i was expecting.  Between the heavier weight and the longer length it ended up looking a lot like a bathrobe on me. That is not the quite the look I was going for so I sent this one back.

This dress was cute out of the box and I do love striped dresses (and stripes in general) but it was too tight in the chest so it was an immediate no.

This dress was cute enough when I took it out the the box but I wasn't super enthusiastic about it. After I put it on I still wasn't enthusiastic about it. It was just barely long enough to be work appropriate but it was nothing special so sent it back.

I do like striped clothes (as I mentioned above :) ) so I was happy to see this sweater in the box.  I put it on and the good feelings continued.  I really like the fun detail of the patches on the sleeve in addition to the stripes.  This one I kept and have worn many times.

There have been a few months recently where I ended up not keeping anything in my box but I was happy to find something to I wanted to keep this month.

Stich Fix #28

It has been a while since I did a review of a Stitch Fix post so here is a quick wrap of of the one I received a couple of months ago.

I was in a wedding a couple of months ago where I got to wear a sari and I wanted to wear gold sandals. I requested a pair and this is what I received. They fit but they didn't feel special or sparkly enough to wear to a wedding so I sent them back.

All summer I had been looking for a comfy pair of shorts so this was one last attempt to find a pair.  I loved the color but they didn't fit quite right so they had to go back too.

Loved this dress but I couldn't wear a bra with this and I didn't want to be limited to always wearing it with sweater so I ended up sending it back.

I also loved this shirt but the back made it so I couldn't wear a bra with it either. The back was the most interesting part and having to always wear a sweater over it kind of defeats the purpose of having an interesting back. I sent this one back too.

This dress was cute but ended up not fitting well and I was going to have to be very careful not to have my bra straps show with this one too. This one went back too.

I didn't end up keeping from my box this month but the colors of the clothing this month were gorgeous.

Stitch Fix #27

When I opened my Stitch Fix box this month I liked the colors I saw so I had high hopes for the clothes in the box.

Another wrap dress that theoretically should have been perfect on me but was not. The color was nice but the top was too loose and low while the bottom half showed every little bump I have. Not a good look so it definitely had to go back.

This dress was cute but a bit too tight on the top so it had to go back.  I am pretty sure even if I lost a it of weight my chest isn't going to shrink.

This high low grey t-shirt fit fine but was nothing special.  The fabric was just a bit too thin for my liking so it too had to go back.

I really sad that these shorts didn't work out because I loved the pattern on them.  They didn't have any sort of zipper or buttons on them so you just had to pull them on.  Once I got them on they fit fine but I can't imagine having to try and yank them on and off every time I had to use the restroom so they had to go back.

Loved the color and the fit of this shirt but with the sheer top and underarms my bra was going to be visible no matter what I did and I can't have that so back it went.

Still a couple more Stitch Fix boxes to catch up on...
