What's Up Wednesday

It is time for another What's Up Wednesday since the month is almost over.  I can't believe it is already almost October.  The year will be over before I know it.

What we're eating this week:
It has finally been cooling down here a bit so I am doing a bit more cooking. Over the weekend I made a big pot of spaghetti sauce with turkey meatballs in it.  One night we had it with zoodles and one night we cooked a spaghetti squash in our instant pot to put the sauce over.  We are trying to eat more veggies so this has been great for that.

What I'm reminiscing about: This past week Facebook has been showing me all kinds of pictures of our honeymoon because that is where we were 2 years ago. We had so much fun and it has been fun to see all our memories pop up.

What I'm loving: I am loving that the weather has cooled down her a bit and that my house is all decorated for fall.  I know New Years is the start of a new year but the start of fall also feels like kind of a fresh start even when I am not starting a new school year anymore. Next weekend I am putting my Halloween decorations which will be fun.

What we've been up to: This past weekend I went to Disneyland to see the Halloween decorations. I spent a couple of days just exploring all the fun Halloween festivities and food.  While Christmas is still my favorite Disney definitely knows how to decorate for a holiday and Halloween is so well done.

What I'm dreading: My husband and I started IVF last month and we are doing three rounds of egg harvesting before we move on to implantation so I have 2 more months to go.   I start shots again next week so I while I am excited about starting a family I an definitely dreading all the shots and medication especially now that I know what to expect after doing it once. I am still working on my post about our first round so stay tuned for that.

What I'm working on: I bought a bunch of frames to make a gallery wall on our living room wall so now I just have to pick out the pictures to put in the frames and get them printed.  I am thinking of putting a few wedding pictures, a few from our honeymoon and some other to be decided photos.

What I'm excited about: While I am dreading the parts of the IVF process I am really excited about hopefully adding a new member to our family some time next year.  Fingers crossed.

What I'm watching/reading: I have been watching the new season of Call the Midwife on Netflix and also watching the newest season of the Great British Bake-Off.

What I'm listening to: Mostly whatever comes on my Pandora which is usually a mix of country and a random mix of 90s-00s pop music.  Everyone needs some Britney in their life every once in a while.

What I'm wearing: I found this really cute Mickey and Minnie shirt to wear on my trip to Disneyland. I also got a really cute Mickey Halloween shirt to wear in the parks.  It even glows in the dark! Both of my shirts looked really cute with my new mustard cardigan.  Yellow isn't usually my color but this mustard cardigan just works and is perfect for fall.

What I'm doing this weekend: I am flying down to San Diego to meet my mom and one of my sisters for a little girls weekend.  The actual reason for the trip is my sister is attending an emergency medicine conference but I haven't seen her since Christmas since she is in med school in Pennsylvania so I couldn't let her be this close and not see her. We are all going to the zoo the day before the conference starts and I have grand plans of sitting by the pool while she is busy conferencing. She doesn't have anything in the evening so we are planning to find lots of delicious places to eat dinner. I am super excited.

Happy Wednesday!

Fall Decorations

While I know that fall doesn't technically start for another week or so once I get past Labor Day I feel like fall is close enough to decorate for.

I put a few leaves under my wire pumpkins on my bar.  Now that the weather is cooling down a bit (at least at night) I can finally light some candles.  I found these pumpkin vanilla candles that smell absolutely heavenly.

I also used a bunch of leaves to dress up my long side table.  One of the only new things I got this year is the gold Gather sign. I am sure it is technically meant to be a Thanksgiving decoration but I liked the way it looked with my fall leaves.

A few little gourds and a cute little fall sign sit on our TV stand and a few more gourds on the side table.

The other new thing I added to my decorations this year was this candle centerpiece.  I put it on top of my china hutch for now though when we open up our table it will fit nicely as a centerpiece for Thanksgiving dinner.

The Easiest Crock Pot Appitizer

Whenever I have to bring something to a potluck at work (or really anywhere) this easy meatball recipe is my go to. When you look at the ingredient list it sounds like it will be disgusting but fear not it is actually amazingly delicious.

You literally just throw the three (yes only 3) ingredients in the crockpot, turn it on and give it a stir once in a while.  When I take it to work I plug it in in our break room and turn it on low for about 4 hours and by the time it is lunch time the meatballs are ready. Perfect! If you are in a rush if you put it on high for about 2 hours you will also have delicious meatballs.

Ingredients:
Image result for costco meatballs
1 large bag of frozen beef meatballs (I usually use a Costco bag)
1 bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce
1 bottle grape jelly

If you buy a normal grocery store bag throw the whole bag in the crockpot with the chili sauce and the grape jelly but if you buy a Costco size bag just put in whatever comfortably fits in your crock pot while still being able to stir it.

Tip: If you have extra meatballs that don't fit in your crock pot when most of the original batch of meatballs are gone just throw the rest of the meatballs in to heat up because there is always plenty of sauce left.

Stitch Fix #35

This month's Stitch Fix box had some very fun things in it and I was hopeful that something would work out but nothing was quite right.  I am trying to only buy things that I really love so I am being extra picky.

The first thing in my box was these super cute Kate Spade multi color stud earrings.  They were so cute that I already own these earrings in multiple colors.  Every year they go on sale during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale so a couple of years I picked up a couple of pairs. I even grabbed a few extra pairs to give as gifts.
This skirt was cute and made my butt look good but because it didn't have a zipper it was hard to put on.  I was afraid that I would tear the seams out shimmying into it every time I wore it so I sent it back.

This dress was super cute and fit really well.  I liked the pink color and the fun flower pattern but I just hated the criss cross X on the neckline of the dress.  If it was just a regular v-neck without the cross I would have definitely kept it.

I really liked this shirt but like many button up shirts it didn't quite fit correctly in the chest.  I could have pinned it so it wouldn't pull or come un-buttoned but I decided it wasn't quite cute enough to warrant all that effort.

The final piece I received was a think t-shirt material cardigan. I wasn't crazy about the color of the elbow patches compared to the rest of the cardigan so I sent it back.  It was comfy but didn't quite hit in the right spot on me.

My next box is scheduled to arrive this week so I am hoping to find something fabulous in it.
